We are proud to recognise two engaged scholarship projects in the Department of Psychology, honoured in 2025 for their commitment to justice, inclusion, and meaningful societal impact. The African LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Project received the International Council of Psychologists International Human Rights Award, acknowledging over a decade of advancing the human rights and psychosocial wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ communities across South Africa and the African continent. The Inside-Out Outside-In South African Corrections Project was also recognised as Best Engaged Scholarship Team at UNISA’s Institutional Research, Teaching, and Engaged Scholarship Excellence Awards.
