TURF Tuks Undergraduate Research Forum - Health Tuks Undergraduate Research Forum (TURF) is a platform for Health Science students at the University of Pretoria seeking to simplify the world of research.

TURF Health, or the Tuks Undergraduate Research Forum - Health, is a platform for students of the Faculty of Health Science at the University of Pretoria with the aim to simplify the all-to-easily intimidating world of research and to orchestrate undergrad research initiatives. We hope to accomplish this by monthly talks on aspects of Health research, ranging from where to begin to involving you in current research undertakings by the University and its affiliated hospitals. We also work closely with the IJMS - International Journal of Medical Students and the office of the Vice-Dean: Research at the Faculty.

🧠🔬 Come shadow with us!

What does a day at the Centre for Neuroendocrinology look like?

Our students got the chance to step into the world of research, explore the work of the Centre and gain first-hand exposure to the possibilities that exist at the intersection of neuroscience, endocrinology and medicine.

We love seeing students move beyond the classroom and experience research in action. ✨

A special thank you to the Centre for Neuroendocrinology for hosting our students.

Our students recently had the opportunity to take part in a shadowing experience at the Centre for Neuroendocrinology, gaining valuable insight into the intersection of neuroscience, endocrinology and research.

From observing the work happening behind the scenes to engaging with researchers and learning more about careers in science and medicine, experiences like these help turn curiosity into meaningful exploration. 🧠🧬

A big thank you to the Centre for Neuroendocrinology for opening their doors and creating this opportunity for our students!

A special thank you to the Forensic Anthropology Research Centre for affording TURF members the opportunity to observe the work they do ✨

From human identification to the study of skeletal remains, forensic anthropology plays an important role in advancing science and contributing to the pursuit of answers.

These moments at the Forensic Anthropology Research Centre (FARC) highlight the hands-on research, learning and collaboration that underpin forensic anthropology at the University of Pretoria.

Through research, curiosity becomes knowledge — and knowledge can make a meaningful difference. 🧬🔍
