Work ethic is similar to basic good manners.

Work ethic is similar to basic good manners.

Talent gets you noticed. Work ethic and curiosity get you everywhere else.

The difference is always the same two things.

They work harder than they need to. And they never stop learning.

Talent is a starting point, not a ceiling. The person who shows up early, stays late when it matters, and treats every project like a chance to get better will eventually overtake the person coasting on ability.

It happens slowly. Then all at once.

The ones who plateau usually share a pattern. They got comfortable. They stopped asking questions. They assumed what got them here would get them there.

The ones who keep climbing share a different pattern. They stay hungry. They seek feedback instead of avoiding it. They treat every role like a classroom, not a destination.

Work ethic without curiosity becomes grinding. You work hard but never smarter.

Curiosity without work ethic becomes potential. You know what to do but never do it.

The combination is rare. And it's unstoppable.

Never underestimate someone with both.

They might not have the credentials. They might not look the part. But give them time and they'll be running the room.
