A Journey of Lifelong Learning, Leadership and Purpose
Cranefield College is proud to share a meaningful reflection from Dr Colin Prince, Chief Executive Officer of Project Management South Africa (PMSA), on the role Cranefield played in shaping his leadership journey.
Dr Prince enrolled at Cranefield College in 2005 to pursue his Postgraduate Diploma in Project and Programme Management. What followed was a journey of continued academic and professional growth, including the completion of his Master of Commerce in Project Management in 2010 and later, his Doctor of Technology in Information Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2016.
Reflecting on this journey, Dr Prince shares that Cranefield provided far more than academic knowledge. It influenced the way he thinks about leadership, strategy and organisational transformation, while equipping him with the confidence to pursue excellence, embrace lifelong learning and contribute meaningfully to the organisations and communities he has served.
His career has since included more than three decades in government and the private sector, the establishment of Living Water Business Strategies, leadership roles within the BLOODSA Foundation NPC, and his appointment in August 2025 as CEO of PMSA, the SAQA-recognised professional body for project management.
“Looking back, I can confidently say that this journey began at Cranefield. The education, mentorship and professional values I received laid the foundation for every opportunity that followed.”
Thank you, Dr Prince, for sharing this inspiring reflection. Your journey is a powerful reminder of the long-term impact of education rooted in leadership, purpose and professional excellence.
