Orientation Day at Randburg: All fun and games before the hectic academic year

This Wednesday saw the beginning of the academic year and orientation week for Damelin and the Randburg campus kicked this off with a breathtaking and fun orientation day for the new students. As the orientation span over three day. The first day‘s programme was jam packed with not only speeches from management but fun activities and games for the students
The day started off with the General Manager Tania Smith introducing the Randburg Manco team. In her address she highlighted the three key principles that the campus strives towards. “Our philosophy is pinned on these three principles of learning. We believe in providing relevant “hand in glove” tuition with conducive learning structures that are aligned to industrial trends, facilitated by well experienced conductors of trade. We invest in ultimate learning experience for our learners. Thus we have programs in place to nurture and materialize this experience.” The Academic Manager Racheal Asiimwe stressed the importance of class attendance from students. She also urged the parents present to be involved in their children’s education.
Bongani Mafumane who is the sales consultant moved the students and parents with his motivation speech about surviving college. He spoke of the importance of education and knowing oneself.
The KFC bursary worth R20 000 was awarded to Alice Ntebogeng Thoabala, a 3rd year Diploma Marketing Management student. Through her excitement she revealed that she intends to use the Bursary to study towards a Bcom Marketing Management Degree.
The day ended off with the students playing watersports with staff and later served lunch in the campus auditorium. Overall this was a successful orientation and the campus management wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the Randburg staff who have made the day a success.
