Today's Women's Day celebration at Tzaneen Campus under the theme "Women in Leadership in the 21st Century" featured insightful and empowering panel discussions.

Our panellists unpacked: Gender Based Violence, The Mandate of the Commission for Gender Equality, Insights on Holistic Wellness
and Women in Leadership.

The conversations were bold, honest and educational — reminding us that empowering women goes beyond celebration. It requires awareness, wellness, protection of rights, and creating space for women to lead.🌸

Delivering the keynote address, College Principal Mr P.P. Mashele honoured the invaluable contribution of women in the institution, communities, country and beyond.

He reflected on the remarkable journey of women who have broken barriers, challenged stereotypes and paved the way for future generations.

“Leadership is not defined by position, but by vision, character, determination and service.”

The Principal further highlighted the important role of education in empowering women to become leaders in their chosen fields, while acknowledging the ongoing challenges of Gender-Based Violence, discrimination, unequal access to opportunities and social inequalities.

He also applauded the women of Letaba TVET College, lecturers, support staff, managers and students for their commitment, professionalism and excellence, which continue to contribute to the growth and success of The College of Choice!

Ouma Ledwaba, Research and Knowledge Lead at TETA, delivered the Masterclass “Drive Your Future – Exciting Careers in Transport, Logistics and Supply Chains” at the Letaba TVET College CareerXperience 2026 Roadshow.

The session opened up conversations around the diverse career opportunities within the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors, inspiring young people to explore careers that can help drive South Africa’s economy forward.

Mathapelo Maepa, Business Development Officer and Acting Coordinator at NYDA, led an empowering session on “Start Your Own Business: Turning Your Skills and Ideas into Income” at the Letaba TVET College CareerXperience 2026 Roadshow.

The session encouraged young people to recognise the potential in their skills and ideas, while exploring entrepreneurship as a pathway to creating income, building sustainable businesses and unlocking new opportunities.

His message reminded young people that where you come from does not determine where you are going — your vision, choices and determination can shape the future you want.
