UKZN FoMSF aims to create awareness and share knowledge about health-related issues; to serve our community and to raise funds for MSF

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors without Borders, is an international non-profit organisation which aims at providing essential health services such as vaccines, war surgery and emergency medicine as well as mental health care support and feeding schemes to those in dire humanitarian circumstances. MSF highlights the plight of those they assist in order to raise public awareness. The organisation welcomes volunteers in medicine, agriculture and logistics. UKZN Friends of MSF supports these objectives and aspires to raise funds for MSF as well as acting within our own community to enable access to good health care and health promotion. We are enthusiastic about engaging with followers on international issues regarding health care as well as keeping you all in the loop with our fundraising and awareness events. We are open to all students at the UKZN medical school.

On the 5th of June, we wore our CRAZIEST socks for a cause bigger than ourselves.

Crazy Socks for Docs is more than fun colours and socks with patterns, it’s about raising awareness and showing support for those struggling with mental health♥️.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped spread this important message. And to anyone who may be struggling, here’s a message for you : you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone. We are here for you🫂
