In Pictures|STUDENT POLITICS | Preparations underway for the 2nd Pan African Student Parliament

Student political and transformation societies at North-West University Vanderbijlpark Campus are meeting to deliberate on the programme, themes, representation and organisational preparations for the upcoming Pan African Student Parliament.

The discussions form part of efforts to establish a broad student platform for engagement on governance, decolonisation, transformation and African youth participation.

“The fight for decolonised education is the fight to reclaim our voice.”🤍

On 16 June 1976, the youth of Soweto stood against an education system that sought to define their future without them. Their resistance was a demand for dignity, identity, and the right to learn on their own terms.

History has no present, only the past rushing into the future. The courage of the Soweto youth continues to remind us that education should liberate, not oppress.

*As Defenders of the Decolonised Education in Africa*, we honour their sacrifice and carry forward their vision of an education system that reflects African realities, values African knowledge, and empowers African voices.

Today, we remember. We reflect. We continue the struggle

DEFENDERS OF THE DECOLONISED EDUCATION IN AFRICA showed up at the Matwala’s Children’s Home with love and purpose.

The children were provided with encouragement and motivation to strive in education. Decolonisation starts with showing up and reminding every little soul that their future is worth fighting for.
