The ICTAZ-ZCASU Student Chapter is pleased to announce the successful hosting of its second Tech Tuesday event, which delved into the comprehensive topic of 'The Operators' View'. This insightful discussion encompassed key learning outcomes, including understanding the multifaceted role of operators, identifying the conditions that shape technology work in Zambia, and recognizing the trade-offs operators make. Additionally, participants contributed to the voluntary operator pulse survey, distinguishing it from the forthcoming women-in-technology event. As a chapter, we remain committed to learning, innovating, and building towards a future of technological advancement. We recently hosted our first Tech Tuesday session for Semester Two.
Guest speaker Mr. Mwale delivered an insightful presentation detailing the practical benefits of affiliating with the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ). He highlighted how active membership provides students with critical industry exposure, practical experience, and essential professional networking opportunities to build successful tech careers.
Through ongoing student initiatives like this, ZCAS University remains committed to educating, empowering, and elevating technology literacy across our student body.

This past Saturday, the ICTAZ-ZCASU Student Chapter linked up with the incredible team at BitDevs Zambia for an eye-opening session on one of the most transformative technologies of our generation, Bitcoin. ₿
As your student chapter, our mission is to connect you to knowledge that goes beyond the classroom, and this meetup did exactly that.

Cybersecurity Awareness Outreach Kamulanga Secondary School
On 19th May 2026, the ICTAZ-ZCASU Student Chapter took a step beyond the campus walls and into the community, bringing critical cybersecurity awareness to the students of Kamulanga Secondary School in Lusaka.
In a world where K3.5 billion is lost to cybercrime in Zambia every year, and where 90% of all cyberattacks begin with a single phishing message, digital literacy is no longer optional; it is essential. Our session covered:
Phishing, Smishing & Online Scams: Recognizing and avoiding the most common threats targeting Zambian youth. The Psychology Behind Cyber Attacks, understanding why even smart people fall for scams. Mobile Money Safety, protecting your wallet in an increasingly cashless Zambia.
Digital Responsibility: practical habits every student can adopt today to stay safe online.
What made this session truly special was the energy in the room. The pupils were not just listening; they were asking sharp questions, sharing experiences, and winning prizes for their active participation. That enthusiasm reminded us exactly why this work matters.
