Director's Speech
I warmly greet you all members of staff, our valued new and old students respectively.
It is with a gladdened and joyful heart that I take this special opportunity to welcome you all to today's, 9th of May 2024 orientations and most importantly our new students to Jasperstone College of Applied Sciences and Technology.
Like an old expression goes, "a house that doesn't receive visitors is a cursed one". Well Jasperstone College is exhilarated-happy today that you are not only visitors but you have made a decision and choice to join the Jasperstone College community of students to stay with us.
This gesture indicates that your names are now part of the history being recorded in the books of JCAST and shall be remembered forever.
To our new students, with gratitude in my heart and soul, I welcome you all to JCAST family and admonition you to be at home.
It is now a fact that JCAST will be your home for the next three months. During this important duration in your life and the college, management expects you our dear students to be at your best behavior and well disciplined both academically and socially.
May I take this opportunity to assure you all that our team of professional members of staff is more than willing and ready to assist you in any way possible academically should you encounter any challenges.
I encourage and advise you to make use of us and we will be more than glad to render our services and transfer the adequate and on demand knowledge to you wholeheartedly.
On behalf of management, I advise you both new and outgoing students especially those on instalment payment plan to ensure to complete payments before attachments period to avoid possible inconveniences.
I wish to take advantage also of this privilege and opportunity to congratulate the outgoing students on the successful completion of their theoretical studies even as they prepare for their attachments at different respective facilities.
Yes, it looks simple and short to onlookers but the effort sponsored by both the lecturing staff, students and entire management to ensure smooth delivery and successful completion this far call for commendation.
I on behalf of management, am proud of you especially for being our very first pool of students in your respective courses (especially HCA). To that effect, JCAST management will support you all the way until we see to it that you are successful in your area of study.
Through our connection and partnership in the United Kingdom, United States of America and India, we are working tirelessly to ensure job opportunities and connections are well established and you our dear students could be the first to benefit from such opportunities.
It is not a secret that among the higher learning institutions in Zambia, Choma to be specific, JCAST is one of the fastest growing colleges and this is because of your participation in the growth and expansion agenda.
As the adage goes, "it takes the whole village to raise a child", I wish to invite you all to students and members of staff to continue taking part for this common cause.
JCAST can only achieve success through your active involvement.
To that cause, to our dear students, anyone who applies through you will attract a commission. To understand the terms and conditions, do ensure to visit the office of the dean of affairs.
Allow me to rest now before I bore you with a long speech as also I am coming back for other responsibilities.
Simply, farewell to our outgoing students and welcome to our new students.
