Today in our chapel morning service, we reflected on Colossians 3:4โ€“5. We were encouraged to put our faith fully in Christ, understanding that He is our life. When He appears, we too will appear with Him in glory. Because of this hope, our lives should clearly show the difference between who we were before and who we are now in Christโ€”leaving the old ways behind and living a new life that honors Him.

The Theological College of Zimbabwe believes learning is not just about lectures and textbooks. Itโ€™s also about who we are becoming. In character, in faith, and in how we live out what we learn.

So hereโ€™s something to think about today:

๐™’๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™™๐™ค๐™š๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ช๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™ข๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™จ๐™š๐™š๐™  ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™จ๐™™๐™ค๐™ข?

Is it found in titles or clever words, or is it something deeper? Something that shows in how we listen, how we treat others, and how we respond when life gets challenging?

Proverbs 9:10 says,
โ€œThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.โ€

Perhaps wisdom is ๐™‰๐™Š๐™ about having all the answers. Maybe it begins with humility. With a heart thatโ€™s open to Godโ€™s guidance, and a willingness to be led, even when the path unclear.

We would love to hear your thoughts. How has your understanding of wisdom changed over time? What experiences or scriptures have shaped your view?

Whether youโ€™re part of our student body, staff team, alumni network or a friend of TCZ, share your thoughts in the comments. We would love to hear from you. Letโ€™s reflect, learn, and grow together.

At the Theological College of Zimbabwe, Mondays begin with light-hearted greetings and warm check-ins among staff. Itโ€™s a cheerful start and a chance to reconnect before we quietly settle into the rhythm of the week.

As the day unfolds, we pause and realign with our purpose, to serve with humility while walking faithfully in the work God has entrusted to us. Itโ€™s in these simple, quiet starts that we remember why we do what we do. We are here to grow โ€” in wisdom, in faith, and in service, walking alongside each other with intention.

This week is especially meaningful as we prepare to welcome both new and returning students for Semester 2, with Introduction Week starting on 28 July. After the break, itโ€™s great for the students to finally be together in person.

Introduction Week is more than just timetables and settling in. Itโ€™s a time of reconnecting, meeting new faces, sharing stories, and easing into the rhythm of a new term. Itโ€™s a period where our learners get to build a sense of belonging, and also be reminded that no one should walk this journey alone.

So as we step into this new week, we do so with steady hearts and open hands, finding joy in the small things, strength for what needs doing, and grace for ourselves and others.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œCommit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.โ€ โ€” Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV)
