Bail denied!
The Magistrate alleges that the accused did not give sufficient reason why they deny the allegations. This is despite the state having consented to not opposing bail and agreeing that they are suitable candidates for bail. This must come to an end. Bail is a right and our position remains clear, the fabricated charges must be dropped now.

They remain in custody till 1 June.

📌Our statement on the International Boy Child's Day by our Gender Desk.

As we commemorate this day, we take time to reflect on the struggles faced by boys in silence. Our thoughts are also with our brothers who are unjustly detained at remand and we continue calling for active solidarity and their unconditional release.

Emmanuel Sitima and Takunda Mhuka are set to appear before the Mbare Magistrates Court tomorrow at 08:30am. We call on all progressive forces to throng the Mbare Mag Court in solidarity. The continued unlawful and unjust incarceration of these 2 fighters over trumped up charges must be condemned by all citizens and put to a stop. No amount of oppression can thrive against a united people.

🔵⚪️ZINASU Press Statement: Schools open today - Restore free education NOW!

While Zambia has boldly passed free Education into law, our government continues to betray the future of our youth. Our radical position remains centred on the immediate restoration of FREE, QUALITY and SKILLS-BASED education for every Zimbabwean child!
The struggle continues!

Yesterday our fighters were remanded to May 13th for the trial date. The judiciary must respect every person’s right to bail with no exceptions, no infringements. We refuse to stay silent while justice is delayed and fundamental rights are trampled upon.

A heartfelt thank you to every fighter still standing in unwavering solidarity with our former President Sitima and Takunda Mhuka. The time for patience is over. We demand justice now and without compromise. ✊⚖️

Today a team of fighters led by the President Liberty Hamauswa carried out an honorable act of solidarity and visited the former President Sitima and Takunda Mhuka at remand. Our position remains unchanged. Sitima is not a criminal and neither is Takunda. The trumped up charges being levelled against them must be dropped immediately.

We gear up to go and stand with them as they appear before the Mbare Magistrates Court on 8 May. This is not only persecution targeted at Sitima and Mhuka, its persecution on all students and youths and we shall not sit and watch.

Court Update for Emmanuel and Takunda📌

The two comrades have been remanded to 8 May. They remain in high spirits and unbroken by this unjust and prolonged detention. The irony in this case is glaring, the state admitted it is not ready for trial. Why arrest young people when you have no strong case against them? This is clearly the weaponization of the judicial system to silence voices of reason.

We continue to demand their immediate and unconditional release. This too shall pass.

Two of our comrades will appear tomorrow at the Chinhoyi Magistrates Court. Academic freedom is non negotiable and students' right to freedom of expression must never be tampered with.

The two are charged with disorderly conduct. These charges stem from an incident where they challenged a staged gathering intended to falsely claim that students at Chinhoyi University of Technology fully support . Efforts to paint a false narrative of students support shall never go unchallenged.

Our fight remains rooted in restoring students' urgency in the fight for academic freedom and social justice. We will fill Chinhoyi Magistrates Court in full solidarity.

Solidarity Call📌
The government continues to target students and treat us as enemies. Our struggle is not for a privileged few but it’s for every Zimbabwean.

When we stand against and when we demand quality, accessible, affordable education, we do it not for fun but out of conviction. Zimbabwe must belong to all and its resources must benefit all. We refuse to be silenced. We will continue to reflect the mood of the nation.

Tomorrow we stand in solidarity with our fighter in Bindura . The young shall save and serve Zimbabwe.
