STATEMENT FROM NEFYE (NEW ECONOMIC FRAMEWORK FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT)
NEFYE stands firmly with the Second Republic on the progressive decision to require 75% local ownership in key strategic industries. This bold policy marks a transformative moment in Zimbabwe's economic journey and represents a decisive step toward genuine economic sovereignty.
For too long, our people have been spectators in their own economy. This legislation changes that narrative fundamentally. It ensures that Zimbabweans, particularly our youth, will no longer be mere participants but will become the rightful masters of our economic destiny.
We view this policy as more than regulatory reform but rather is an act of economic justice. It creates pathways for young Zimbabweans to lead, to own, and to build wealth within their own nation. It signals that the resources and opportunities within our borders will primarily benefit those who call Zimbabwe home.
NEFYE is committed to supporting the successful implementation of this framework. We will work to ensure our youth are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to seize these new opportunities. Economic empowerment without ownership is incomplete, and ownership without preparation is unsustainable. We are dedicated to bridging that gap.
This is Zimbabwe's time. This is our generation's moment. We stand ready to build an economy that reflects our aspirations, serves our people, and secures prosperity for generations to come.
In solidarity with the Second Republic and in service to Zimbabwe's youth,
NEFYE
