Did you Know

Being an IT Expert, Davidzo Nyoni is a Lecturer at Kwekwe Polytechnic. In her, we see a rare and scarce skill which used to be possessed only by our yesteryear mothers. The way she meticulously handles hand knits and crotchet is amazing. A now scarce talent and skill indeed. This gives her a competitive urge through her original hand knitted products such as jerseys, scarfs, toys, hands, hand bags and many more. Ms Nyoni is a typical woman spoken of in Proverbs 31. One who works up early in the morning and uses her skill all for the glory herself and those around her. She is also partaking at the Midlands Skills fair competing with other experts in her trade. Ms Nyoni is recording fairly good sales as many people take practical steps to prepare for the forthcoming winter which is suspected to be record-breaking

On May 5, 2026, Kwekwe Polytechnic successfully hosted the biannual Fire Outbreak Reaction Training (FORT) Program, organized in collaboration with Public Works and the Problem Busters Fire Engineering Company. The training aimed to equip students with essential skills for using firefighting equipment and effective evacuation procedures during fire emergencies. Key attendees included Mr. Chabata, the Provincial Mechanical Officer, and Mr. Manyowo, the Director of Problem Busters, alongside trainees Tanatswa Wadzvanya and Leeroy Chigugu. The program featured an overview of the FORT initiative, practical demonstrations of fire extinguishers, and student participation in demonstrating their understanding. It concluded with a question and answer session and attendance registration. We extend our heartfelt gratitude towards the Principal for facilitating the organisation of this training program and we look forward to similar endeavours in the future.
