Meet Zimbabwe's Young Miner! 🇿🇼

One of the day 2 highlights at Mine Entra 2026 was meeting Elwyn Kunashe Bobosibunu, a passionate young Zimbabwean with a keen interest in the mining industry.

His question challenged us:
"Why should I study Mining in Zimbabwe and not abroad?"

We were excited to share why the University of Zimbabwe is the right place to pursue a mining career, offering quality education, experienced academics, practical industry exposure, and the opportunity to help unlock Zimbabwe's vast mineral wealth.

The conversation was inspiring, and we're thrilled that Elwyn left our stand not just with answers, but with a vision for the future, as one of our prospective UZ students.

The future of Zimbabwe's mining sector is bright because of young people who dare to dream, ask questions, and pursue excellence. We can't wait to welcome more future miners to the University of Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Celebrates Innovation and Healthcare Milestones! 🌍

On 27 July 2026, President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially commissioned two landmark projects that will transform our nation’s future: the Msasa Industrial Incubation Hub and the Specialist Medical Centre in Avondale.

The University of Zimbabwe Industrial Incubation Centre in Msasa was built to support young innovators and start-ups ready to take their ideas to market. It currently hosts 11 companies across agriculture, ICT, engineering, pharmaceuticals, health, transport, and energy, provides mentorship, technical support, and industry partnerships to help prototypes become real products. It is a key part of Zimbabwe’s Education 5.0 model, linking universities directly to industrialisation and entrepreneurship.

Specialist Medical Centre (Avondale) offers advanced services in eye care, oral health, assisted reproduction (IVF), and trauma care, makes IVF and other specialist treatments more accessible to ordinary citizens — services that were once only available privately and serves as a training hub for medical students, equipping them with modern skills and technologies. It strengthens Zimbabwe’s healthcare system while reducing reliance on foreign medical services.

Why This Matters
These projects embody the government’s vision to “leave no one and no place behind.” The Incubation Hub empowers youth-led innovation and industrial growth. The Medical Centre expands access to affordable, specialist healthcare for all.

Together, they represent a bold step toward a self-reliant, inclusive, and prosperous Zimbabwe.

Let’s celebrate this milestone and continue supporting initiatives that bring education, innovation, and healthcare closer to our communities.
