D-ARCH welcomes John Lin from the office Rural Urban Framework, who will lead a visiting studio at the Institute of Landscape and Urban Studies.

John Lin is a professor at the University of Hong Kong and co-director of the Rural Urban Framework (RUF) research and design collaborative.

D-ARCH welcomes Ido Avissar from the French practice LIST, who will lead a visiting studio at the Institute of Landscape and Urban Studies.

Ido Avissar is an architect and urbanist who founded LIST in 2012, a Paris-based practice focusing on architecture, urban design, and research.

During a journey through Mainland Southeast Asia, students Alexander Bennet and Marvin Ebneter visited and exchanged with architects in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.

In a book, they present nine locally rooted buildings that create complex atmospheres and unique spaces using simple means, often far removed from grand theories and names.

With photos, plans and essays, the publication is an invitation to pay attention to lesser-known voices and learn from other cultures in architecture.

Gravis Robotics secured 200 million US dollars, reaching a one billion dollar valuation. The ETH spin-off develops AI systems to automate excavators and other construction machinery.

Gravis Robotics was founded in 2022 and grew out of the Robotic Systems Lab led by ETH Zurich Professor Marco Hutter. Several research groups at ETH Zurich contributed to the technology, including Gramazio Kohler Research and the NCCR Digital Fabrication.
