The 2025 HIMS-BUEA CONVOCATION CEREMONY
The 2025 convocation ceremony of HIMS-Buea took place on the institution’s campus on Saturday the 13th of December 2025. The event started with the procession of graduating students, then followed closely by that of staff (academic and administrative), in the most solemn manner reminiscent of Anglo-Saxon academic tradition. Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda, represented by the Director of the Higher Institute of Commerce and Management (HICM) of the same University, Professor Njimated Godfrey, declared the ceremony open, then followed by a welcome address from the Rector of HIMS-Buea, Professor Cornelius M. Lambi.
After a brief musical interlude, Prof. Njimated addressed the graduating students and commended HIMS-Buea for providing not just quality education but also putting the required equipment at the disposal of its students. There was also an address from the founder and CEO of HIMS-Buea, Dr Bernard T.B. Fomba. Then came a valedictory speech presented by the overall best graduating student, Njoku Labelle with a cumulative GPA of 3.83, which came with a direct employment from one of the sponsors and an alumnus of HIMS-Buea right at the ceremonial ground.
The peak of the ceremony was the conferment of degrees by the representative of the Vice Chancellor and award of prizes from sponsors, Royal dignitaries, partners and the alumni. In all, 470 students graduated from HIMS Buea this year: 41 MBA. 192 B.Tech and BBA, and 237 HND. The event came to an end with a closing remark from the representative of the Vice Chancelor of the University of Bamenda (UBA).
When you think of excellence, you think of HIMS-Buea. That is why the institution brides itself with quality in both the selection of lecturers and the delivery of lectures as reflected in its results at all levels.
A special thank you to all parents for trusting their children to us and to sponsors, donors, royal dignitaries and alumni as we take another rendezvous for 2026.
