College of International Transport and Logistics Alamein

College of International Transport and Logistics Alamein Welcome to CITL Alamein's social gathering spot for news and conversation. Logistics is the management of activities that support supply chain operations.

Logistics management is considered the most advanced branch of business administration. Logistics activities include: distribution, warehousing, transportation, cargo handling and stowage, packing and packaging, exporting and customer service. These integrated activities are managed within the context of information systems to reduce production costs, and to achieve competitive advantage for the business along achieving customer satisfaction. The Arab academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) is one of the leading universities in the Middle East and North Africa that offers Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain studies. AASTMT has given special attention to this science as the latest branch of management. It has been offering courses in Logistics leading to BSc in International Transport and Logistics since 1995. No wonder, the establishment of the College of International Transport and Logistics in El Alamein (CITL EA) is a milestone toward the establishment of a Logistics centre of excellence in the Middle East to cope with the latest developments in the field of Supply Chain. Welcome to the new Captial of Egypt,

🌍 Resilience in Action | CITL 5th International Logistics Camp 2026
Opening the Day with Industry Insight | Unilever

Day 1 of the CITL 5th International Logistics Camp brought our theme, “Resilience in Global Trade Logistics,” to life through real-world industry insights, interactive discussions, and practical perspectives on how global supply chains adapt to an ever-changing world. 🚢📦

Our first session was led by Omar Emara, Inbound Logistics Lead – Unilever NALI, who took participants through Beyond Borders: Navigating the End-to-End Supply Chain.

Through his insightful session, Omar explored the journey of imported materials from demand planning and supplier selection to inbound logistics, customs clearance, ports, and finally the plant gate. He also highlighted how trade agreements, ACID & CargoX, landed cost, port selection, and geopolitical disruptions can directly impact lead times, costs, and supply chain resilience.
🔥 One key takeaway? Resilience is not simply about reacting when a supply chain breaks — it is about anticipating disruption, having alternatives, and making the right decisions before the gap appears. Omar’s discussion of rerouting, re-porting, changing transport modes, adjusting safety stock, and re-sourcing brought this idea to life.

A powerful start to a day dedicated to understanding how people, processes, technology, and strategic decisions come together to build stronger global trade networks. 🌐
