Could a routine blood test spot cancer nearly a decade before diagnosis? Oxford researchers have found that sensitive blood testing can identify key DNA changes up to nine years before a formal diagnosis. Published in Cell Genomics by Oxford Population Health and the University of Toronto, the study captures the earliest signs of cancer development using highly sensitive blood profiling that captures DNA changes.

The University of Oxford has launched a Phase I clinical trial in Uganda for a new candidate vaccine against Bundibugyo virus disease. Led by the Oxford Vaccine Group and Pandemic Sciences Institute alongside Ugandan research partners, the study evaluates the safety and immunogenicity of the ChAdOx-based vaccine, targeting an Ebola species where no licensed vaccine currently exists.
