CUHK Workshop on “Basic Flexible Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (Basic FEES) Workshop 2025” on 9-10 January 2027 (Sat & Sun)

We are delighted to announce that the "Basic Flexible Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (Basic FEES) Workshop 2025" will be held again on 9th and 10th January 2027 (Saturday and Sunday). This workshop is organized jointly by the Division of Speech Therapy of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Institute of Human Communicative Research.

The workshop aims to provide speech therapists and doctors with the latest updates on dysphagia management and intervention, while promoting the use of Flexible Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (FEES) in the assessment of dysphagia, rehabilitation planning, and as a biofeedback tool. It is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice by offering hands-on opportunities for participants to pass the laryngoscope.

感謝社聯（HKCSS）邀請我們參與「照護食研討會 2026」。

非常榮幸能與眾多業界同工交流，並能於展區分享我們提倡的目標：為吞嚥困難人士推動正向且有尊嚴的進食體驗。因為吞嚥困難遠不止是一項生理障礙，它更深遠地影響著患者的生活樂趣、社交生活和日常尊嚴。

研討會中，方思行博士於台上分享真知灼見，打破大眾的既定迷思與誤解；他更於圓桌討論中，與多位業界專家針對患者面對的困境積極探討解決方案。

透過這次跨專業的交流，我們希望能為大家留下一個引人深思的核心問題： 「我們是治療『吞嚥』這個動作，還是治療一個『人』？」

We just wrapped up an incredible time at the Carefood Symposium hosted by HKCSS! It was a privilege to connect with so many fellow professionals and passionate advocates.

Our exhibit focuses on a simple yet vital goal: promoting positive and dignified mealtime experiences for people with Dysphagia. Because Dysphagia extends far beyond a physiological disorder, it impacts a person’s joy, social life, and daily dignity.

A major highlight of the event was when our Prof. Raymond Fong, shared his insights and gently dismantled common misconceptions about dysphagia on stage.

At the end of the day, we aren't just treating a physical limitation—we are always caring for the whole person. Stay tuned for more of our social events!
