We're so proud of our students and graduates who constantly are involved in creating work in the sector. In a new show coming to the Cork Arts Theatre, BATDS graduates and students are collaborating on the new and original work Beautiful Little Robin presented by Aimée Eliza Quinn and Rachel Griffin (BATDS Fourth Year). The crew is saturated with BATDS fourth year students and starring Davide Marinelli (BATDS Fourth Year) and Nathan Forde (BATDS Graduate).

Other CSM students in the production team include:

BATDS Year Four:
Flavia Martac - Movement Director
Aishling McKeon - Costume Designer | Assistant Stage Manager
Ava Manning - Dramaturg
Abbie O’Halloran - Social Media Manager

Graduate of MA in Music and Technology:
Pádraig Daly - Sound Design

Beautiful Little Robin is a psychological drama that explores a hidden relationship between two men that find themselves in irreparable chaos. In attempts to repair the “mess”, they examine the fragile boundaries between reality and illusion. The couple are led back to a single incident that uncovers the harrowing reality behind their romance. How do you keep the beauty of a moment forever?
The piece is saturated with several artistic perspectives that enable the story to exist across a range of visual and conceptual forms. The outcome is a poignant, nuanced, and evocative production.

Are you looking for music class for your child aged 7+ starting this term? We are still taking applications for Buttons & Bellows; a musicianship class on the piano accordion. 🪗
Children learn music literacy, theory and aural skills in a 45 minute lesson on the piano accordion in a fun ensemble class. We currently have some beginner piano accordion for loan as well, so if you don't have an instrument, no problem at all.

RESEARCH NEWS! Congratulations to Dr. Trish Rooney who has authored "Laryngectomy Surgery Observation Experience” which was published in the Voice and Speech Review VASTA Journal over the summer.

Voice lecturer and voice rehabilitation specialist who loves helping people reconnect with their voices in a positive, practical, and hopeful way, Dr. Rooney had a unique opportunity to observe a laryngectomy surgery. Laryngectomy is the surgical removal of the larynx (voice box), usually performed in patients with advanced stages of throat cancer. The article outlines the experience of that surgery observation along with practical work that she does with the Laryngectomy Choir “Good Vibrations”.
