A huge congratulations to our recent graduate Declan Kerrigan on the debut of his brand .co at the collaborative Éadach Ealaíne showcase for IFW yesterday. 🖤

Having graduated in June, Declan is already making his mark with a collection that beautifully reimagines traditional Irish fabrics through a contemporary lens.

Donegal Tweed and linen mixes from are paired with sheer, ethereal fabrics, sculpting the body into dramatic curved silhouettes with intricate corsetry and considered detailing.

Rooted in the landscape, culture and heritage of South Donegal, Kapaeri brings a strong sense of narrative to the collection, transforming familiar materials into something distinctly modern, sculptural and unexpected.

It was fantastic to see Declan collaborate with the other six designers to bring Éadach Ealaíne to life, and even more exciting to see the beginning of what promises to be a very bright future for these talented designers. ✨

A huge congratulations to our graduate Emma McKinney on showcasing her first post-graduate collection for her brand MANIAC at yesterday’s collaborative showcase for Éadach Ealaíne for 🖤

An incredible collection built around beautiful contrasts; polished leather and chrome fastenings meet crochet, deadstock denim, yarns and remnant Donegal Tweed from

MANIAC creates distinctive pieces designed to challenge convention and celebrate individuality, bringing together unexpected materials, textures and details to create a collection that feels unapologetically its own.

So proud to see Emma taking her graduate vision forward and carving out her own space in fashion.

Yesterday, Graduate Designer Anna NíMháirtín opened with her calming Donegal Irish language, introducing the philosophy behind a collaborative showcase celebrating Irish culture, identity and craft for referencing our Irish history.
Dance during the interval further brought this celebration to life.
Anna’s collection told a dystopian story of a hypothetical future, using durable garments as artefacts of survival and adaptation. Through her work, she reminds us of the urgent importance of critical climate intervention and the choices we make today for tomorrow.
A powerful opening to an excellent fashion show for Eadach Ealaíne and a beautiful celebration of Irish creativity. 🌿

Our First Year Fashion Design with Promotion students embraced the essence and spirit of Dior SS24, translating its elegance, strength, and contemporary femininity into expressive illustrations that reflect both the collection and their own creative voices. Such progressive journeys that the students have been on with all their modules! Sorry, I’m only getting to post these now and that I don’t have images of all the work!! Looking forward to seeing what you all do in your second year!!

We always encourage students to look beyond trends and consider the stories, craftsmanship, and cultural significance behind what we wear. Ashes to Fashion at the Ulster Museum does exactly that.

The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on fashion as a powerful expression of identity, It offers an opportunity to appreciate the skill, innovation, and narratives embedded within garments, while highlighting the role fashion plays in documenting both personal and collective histories.

A thought-provoking and inspiring exhibition that reminds us why museums are such valuable spaces for learning, questioning, and creative inspiration. If you’re in Belfast, it’s definitely worth a visit.
