🌟 Community Spirit At Its Best! 🌟
Well done to our very own Amy Joyce who was recently celebrated at the recent Roscommon–Longford Garda Youth Awards. 👏
Through her pursuit of excellence in Boxing, and by training and completing at both a national and international level, Amy has had a very positive impact on the wider community. Amy has consistently promoted a positive image of young people throughout by demonstrating commitment, dedication and perseverance. By acting as a positive role model for her peers, and by approaching every opportunity with enthusiasm and dedication, Amy serves as an inspiring example of leadership. 💙💛
Well done Amy - you have done yourself, your family and your school proud. A massive thank you to An Garda Síóchána and Roscommon County Council for a wonderful evening of celebrations. Comhghairdeas libh go léir!

💙💛 “The Best Is Yet to Come” 💛💙
Last May, we were delighted to welcome Paddy Joe Burke to Meán Scoil Mhuire as part of our Focus & Flourish programme for 6th Year students.

Paddy Joe shared an uplifting message about building resilience, facing challenges and looking to the future with hope. Paddy Joe met with our Leaving Cert students just before State Examinations commenced, so his message, “The best is yet to come,” was a lovely reminder of the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.

Paddy Joe is launching his new book, "Kindness Has a Long Memory – The Untold Story", written with Richard Canny. The launch promises to be a lovely evening celebrating Paddy Joe's life, his stories and the people and experiences that have shaped his journey.

Thank you, Paddy Joe, for your warmth, wisdom and encouragement. Every good wish for your book launch from all at Meán Scoil Mhuire! 📖✨

🎁 A Little Box, a Lot of Love! 🎁
It's that time of year again when we invite our students, families & staff to spread a little joy this Christmas by supporting the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal.💙A shoebox filled with thoughtful gifts can bring excitement, happiness & a message of hope to a child affected by poverty. This is a lovely opportunity to put our Mercy values into action through kindness, generosity & care for others. If you're unable to fill a whole shoebox, you can still get involved by donating individual items such as stationery, toiletries, toys or warm accessories. These will be used to help put together additional shoeboxes.Whether you fill a whole box or contribute an item, every act of kindness counts. Let's make this year's appeal a great success! 📦 Please return your filled shoebox to the school by Friday, 6th November. Thank you for helping us make a difference—one shoebox at a time! ✨

Friendship Week!

It was a fun-filled week for our First Year Students as they celebrated Friendship Week!

They enjoyed making friendship bracelets, having a lovely coffee morning, and finishing the week in style with our Halloween dress-up day! 🎃👻

A big well done to everyone who made the effort to dress up and get involved. It was fantastic to see so much creativity, enthusiasm, and friendship throughout the week!

Concern’s Cook for Gaza Fundraiser 🥧🧁

A huge thank you to all the teachers who volunteered to take part in our Pie a Teacher fundraiser yesterday, all in aid of Concern Worldwide Cook For Gaza campaign!

Over €400 was raised on Friday through ticket sales. Along with Thursday’s bake sale, our 6th Year students took ownership of both events, raising a fantastic €621 in total for the people of Gaza. 👏🏼

Our fundraising page is still available if you would like to make an online donation.

Once again, a big Meán Scoil Mhuire Longford thank you to all involved, both students and staff!
