⚡Wanted: Pre - Loved Uniforms!⚡
Our school has identified an urgent need for pre-loved uniforms. We ask the Meán Scoil Mhuire school community to send in any pre - loved uniforms they would like to donate as soon as possible. Uniform items for donation should be washed/clean and of good quality. Items should be placed in a clean, dry plastic bag and left in to Reception during school hours. Let's do our bit to help the environment by reducing waste, supporting local families and supporting student activities at Meán Scoil Mhuire. All sizes welcome but Junior uniform sizes have also been requested! St.Mel's Cathedral parish,Longford.

We would like to wish the very best of luck to our students representing Longford and Roscommon this weekend as they compete in the ZuCar All-Ireland U18 Championship Finals. We are incredibly proud to see our students representing their counties on the biggest stage and wish them, their teammates and management every success. 👏🍀

🌊 Join Our Inclusive Kayaking Summer Programme 🚣‍♀️

Get ready for an exciting summer adventure at Branigan Harbour!

This inclusive kayaking programme is designed for adults, teens & children with additional needs, including: physical, intellectual, sensory, neurodivergent, mental health, communication & social/environment.

This programme allows participants to explore the fun and freedom of kayaking in a safe and supportive environment.

💙 Our programme is the perfect opportunity to:
✅ Learn the basics of kayaking
✅ Build confidence on the water
✅ Enjoy fun, inclusive outdoor activities
✅ Meet new people and make great memories

For safety reasons participants should be comfortable in the water.

• Parents/guardians are asked to remain at the water entry point during sessions.
• Kayaking sessions may be cancelled if weather conditions are unsafe.

Leaving Certificate & Leaving Certificate Applied 2026 - Key Dates & Information

The State Examinations Commission confirmed that the Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied Results will be released on Friday, 21st August 2026 at 10:00am via the Candidate Self Service Portal (CSSP).

Please see the attached images for important information and key dates relating to results, CAO offers, access to data, viewing scripts and the appeals process over the coming months.

We encourage all Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied students and parents/guardians to save these dates for future reference.

☀️Summer Programme 2026☀️

Our very successful Summer Programme concluded last Friday after a busy two weeks in Meán Scoil Mhuire.

Students from 1st to 5th Year actively and enthusiastically engaged in a range of activities and projects while developing key skills for life and for learning. Our ladies particularly loved cooking and cake decorating, their Numeracy Art classes, PE activities, Dance and of course our annual trip to The Attic. In fact, it was often hard to tear them away from one activity so the next could begin - a sure sign they were enjoying their time on our Summer Programme!

Parents were also invited in on Friday for afternoon tea which was prepared by our students. While here, parents had an opportunity to explore all of the learning their daughter engaged in over the course of the two weeks before our annual awards ceremony.

A huge well done to all of our ladies who participated so eagerly and energetically over these past two weeks. We are very proud of you.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of the staff involved in our Summer Programme. Without our fantastic staff we simply could not run such a successful programme.
