We were delighted to host the opening ceremony of the photography exhibition “Couleurs du Brésil” by Omar Laaouina on Thursday, May 7, at the UM6P Rabat campus, in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Morocco and the Instituto Guimarães Rosa.

Opening remarks by our Dean, Mr. Karim El Aynaoui, and H.E. Alexandre Parola, Ambassador of Brazil to Morocco, emphasized the importance of cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries. Omar Laaouina then took the floor to present his work, sharing the inspiration behind his photographs and offering a personal perspective on the richness, diversity, and contrasts of Brazilian culture captured through his lens. His intervention also highlighted subtle cultural resonances between Morocco and Brazil, reflected in artistic expressions and shared historical influences.

Professor Jamal MACHROUH and Vice-Dean khalid chegraoui further underscored the role of art in fostering dialogue, while highlighting the Atlantic’s historical and geographical significance as a space of exchange.

The ceremony was also marked by the presence of ambassadors from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Panama, reinforcing its international dimension.
