🇪🇺 STiDS-Mi Project | Miskolc, Hungary
Over the past few days, we had the pleasure of joining our international project partners in Miskolc, Hungary, for the joint closing event of the STiDS and STiDS-Mi projects, where we presented and discussed the results of our collaborative work.
The meeting brought together representatives from Timișoara, Szeged, and Miskolc, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences, reflect on the progress achieved, and explore how interoperable data spaces can support more sustainable and data-driven urban environments.
During the event, we presented the contributions of Politehnica University Timișoara (UPT), focusing on the development of an AI-driven air-quality forecasting service for Miskolc.
Our work involved developing and integrating machine-learning models capable of generating 24-hour PM2.5 and PM10 forecasts across 62 locations, using meteorological, atmospheric, and geographical information.
Beyond predictive modelling, we implemented a complete workflow covering data preparation, automated forecasting, standardised data exchange through NGSI-LD, and secure delivery to the Miskolc data infrastructure.
One of the outcomes of this work is an interactive air-quality forecasting map, allowing users to explore predicted pollution levels across the city and throughout the forecast period.

The STiDS-Mi project represents another step towards strengthening cross-border collaboration, interoperable data spaces, and data-driven approaches to environmental monitoring and smarter cities.
Many thanks to our colleagues and project partners for their collaboration, dedication, and the insightful discussions throughout these days in Miskolc!
