Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Nu Omega Chapter was chartered on February 7, 1942, and has been dedicated to serving our community on the local, state and international levels. Dedmond.

For over eight decades the chapter has been a guiding light throughout the Columbia, SC area. The Gamma Nu Omega Chapter was established in Columbia, South Carolina in February 1942 by 17 energized, sophisticated, and poised ladies under the leadership of Flossie M. Twenty-nine dynamic leaders have followed her assiduous lead in service throughout the Columbia metropolitan area. The chapter has gr

own to just under 200 members who strive continually to capture a vision fair. The chapter has grown in a variety of ways; activities have taken on a deeper meaning, the membership has increased greatly, the programs have expanded and we have formed relationships which have ripened into genuine friendships. Gamma Nu Omega Chapter recently hosted an impactful "Empower Our Families, Our Seniors" meeting in partnership with the Advocate for Social Justice Committee, bringing community members together for an informative discussion on civic participation.

Featured speaker Travis Alexander from the Richland County Voter Registration and Elections Office provided practical information on voter registration, election procedures, deadlines, and resources to help ensure every eligible citizen can make their voice heard. Attendees left better informed about voting requirements and the tools available to stay engaged in the democratic process.

This collaborative event demonstrates our ongoing commitment to educating and empowering seniors through meaningful programming and strategic community partnerships. We are grateful to Mr. Alexander and his staff for sharing their expertise and to everyone who attended. Together, we remain dedicated to uplifting our senior community through education, engagement, and empowerment.
