September is National Emergency Preparedness Month
Know the 5 P's of Emergency Preparedness - have these essentials when you evacuate:
1) People and pets - be sure to bring all family members and pets and to have essential items like medications, pet food, leashes, and/or carriers. Have a designated spot to meet at in the event of an emergency evacuation.
2) Prescriptions - bring your crucial daily medications, medical devices, and first-aid basics.
3) Papers - have digital or physical copies of important paperwork like ID's, insurance policies, property deeds, and bank records.
4) Personal Needs - bring basic changes of clothing for each family member, hygiene products, eyeglasses, and non-perishable snacks and water.
5) Priceless Items - bring your irreplaceable family heirlooms, sentimental photos, vital backup drives, expensive or important jewelry.
