We offer face-to-face, online, virtual and Learn Anywhere formats, in which students choose week-to-week how they will attend class. We offer a variety of associate degrees and technical certificates, including some available for free through the state's Next Level Jobs program.

🍽️✨ Take a look at what our Culinary and Hospitality students created in their very first HOSP 212 class!

Garde Manger is all about the preparation and presentation of cold foods, including charcuterie, smoked meats, pickled fruits and vegetables, and eye-catching displays. These students are already getting hands-on experience and building real culinary skills while letting their creativity shine.

And here's the really cool part: this was all done during Chef Darrick's first week teaching at Ivy Tech Lake County! 👏

A big shoutout to Chef Darrick and his students for this amazing work. We are so excited to see what they'll create next!

👨‍🍳 We're excited to welcome Chef Darrick Tucker Jr. to Ivy Tech Lake County as our new Full-Time Culinary Instructor! Chef Tucker brings a wealth of industry experience, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to helping students discover their potential in the culinary arts.

An award-winning chef and community leader, Chef Tucker has been recognized as ACF Chefs of NWI Chef Educator of the Year and earned a silver medal at the World Food Championship Qualifier during the ACF National Convention. He is also dedicated to building strong partnerships between local high schools, Ivy Tech, and four-year hospitality programs to create more opportunities for future culinary professionals.

🎉 What a great start to the fall semester!

This week, our Student Life Department welcomed students to campus with three days of activities, games, giveaways, and resource tables designed to help students feel connected and supported. From meeting fellow classmates to learning about campus resources, students had the opportunity to build relationships and set themselves up for success.

While many of our team members are still without power and managing storm-related damage at home, they continue showing up for our students every day.
