With deep sorrow and heartfelt reflection, the Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® honors the life and legacy of our beloved Soror, Pamelia Brown, Fall 1993 Initiate of D.I.V.I.N.E. 6.

Her presence, grace, and dedication to sisterhood will forever remain a part of our chapter’s legacy.

We extend our love, prayers, and deepest condolences to her children, family, line sisters, and all who were touched by her light.

May we continue to uplift her memory through our service, our excellence, and our sisterhood.

Throughout the week, our programming will highlight our international initiatives including enhancing our environment, building our economic wealth, uplifting our local communities, empowering our families, and strengthening our sisterhood.

On March 5th, the Nu Lambda Chapter alongside our graduate chapter, Gamma Psi Omega, had the opportunity to participate in Merrillville High School’s Divine Nine Interest Day, engaging with students interested in learning more about historically Black Greek-letter organizations🩷💚

Students who stopped by our table learned about the history and legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, the mission and impact of our organization, and how the Nu Lambda Chapter serves our campus and community through scholarship, service, and sisterhood. We also shared insight into the values and requirements to pursue membership and answered questions about the college experience.

We enjoyed sharing knowledge, answering questions, and encouraging the next generation of leaders and scholars. Thank you to Merrillville High School💜 for hosting such a meaningful and educational event.

On February 25th, our chapter proudly participated at Thea Bowman Leadership Academy’s Step, Talk, & Stroll Event. Our chapter President, Ta’Mar, joined fellow members of the Divine Nine in an engaging panel discussion, answering questions about college life, professional development, and how our organizations have shaped us as student leaders and future professionals. The panel provided students with meaningful insight, encouragement, and real conversations about navigating higher education while honoring the impact and excellence of Black leadership. The event concluded with a joint stroll presentation alongside our graduate chapter, Gamma Psi Omega, united with members of the Divine Nine as we continued serving, inspiring, and uplifting our youth and community through sisterhood, scholarship, and service.
