Congratulations to the Carbondale Illinois NAACP on a successful 49th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet! This inspiring occasion honored the NAACP’s enduring mission to advance civil rights, equity, justice, and opportunity while strengthening communities through advocacy and action. We were especially proud to celebrate our very own Soror Karen Boykin-Towns, Vice Chair of the NAACP National Board of Directors, as the distinguished guest speaker! 💙👏🏽
The Freedom Fund Banquet was a powerful reminder that meaningful progress is built through collective commitment, courageous leadership, and service to others.

Today we proudly celebrate the 100th Birthday of our beloved Soror Dr. Opal Lee, affectionately known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.” What an extraordinary blessing to celebrate a century of life, service, courage, and unwavering commitment to freedom and justice!

Soror Lee’s determination, strength, and lifelong advocacy have left an incredible legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. She is truly the embodiment of Finer Womanhood and a shining example of what it means to serve with purpose. 💙🕊️
