🐅 Mizzou Animal Science Leadership Academy Update! 🐅

Olivia Walling recently attended the MU Animal Science Leadership Academy in Columbia! Here’s what Olivia had to say about her week:

💬 "I learned so much at the academy! On the final day, my group presented on animal welfare at the closing reception. We placed second, winning each member a $500 scholarship to Mizzou's CAFNR!

I was terrified at first because I didn't know anyone, but I left with 20 new friends, a great understanding of how food goes from farm to table, and awesome memories touring the Mizzou Vet School and Equine Center!"

🏆 NATIONAL FINALISTS ALERT! 🏆

Huge congratulations to Kylie McRoy and Grace Tucker for being named National FFA Agriscience Fair Finalists! 🎉👏

Their research project, "The Correlation of Blood Pressure when Interacting with a Farm versus Companion Animal," explored how interacting with different animals impacts human blood pressure and emotional state. 🐮🐶❤️

🔬 How They Got Here:
After taking first place at the state level with their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project, Kylie and Grace submitted their written report to the national level, where top entries from across the country were selected to advance.

Now, they're heading to the National FFA Convention & Expo to present their research to a panel of judges and be recognized live on stage! 🌟

Missouri Agribusiness Academy
🗣️ "For nearly 40 years, the Missouri Department of Agriculture has connected students to career opportunities across the entire agriculture industry," said Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn. "We are excited in 2026 to introduce students to many opportunities in the St. Louis region. Appropriately called the Plant Science Corridor, St. Louis is a powerhouse for agriculture technology and innovation."

Bella Lowe will participate in a yearlong program exploring career opportunities, touring agribusinesses in St. Louis, visiting the Missouri State Fair, and connecting with industry leaders in Jefferson City! 🏛️✨

We have some incredible news to celebrate from this summer’s Missouri Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association (MVATA) conference!

Congratulations to Mrs. Stroud and Mrs. Baird, who were recognized as "Teachers of Teachers"! 🏆 This special award honors educators who have inspired former students to step up and join the agricultural education profession.

Speaking of continuing the legacy, please join us in celebrating three of our amazing former students turned educators:

☀️ Hot days, bright futures! ☀️

Despite the scorching summer heat, this year’s St. Francois County Fair was a fantastic week for our chapter! We could not be prouder of all our FFA students who represented us so well as exhibitors. 🏆

Months of early mornings, hard work, and dedication showed in the show ring and project halls this week.

💙💛 A huge THANK YOU to our parents, alumni, fair board, and community members who cheered on our members and supported the livestock auction. We appreciate you!

On August 11, our newly elected Farmington FFA officers came together for a day of team bonding and camaraderie before school starts!

Serving as an officer takes serious dedication and teamwork, and this trip was the first step toward an incredible year. Our leadership team has big plans ahead, and we can’t wait to get started! 🌾✨
