Meet this week's Why Wednesday, Kennedy Christian, a respiratory student!
“I wanted to pursue respiratory therapy because I've always been called to the healthcare field. I thought about a lot of different health care professions but none of them stuck out to me like respiratory therapy did. It is a small practice compared to other fields, but it's a golden one, and there are so many opportunities to serve, provide care, and show compassion for people experiencing breathing difficulties. My favorite part of the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions is the community! I've never felt like there wasn't an opportunity to make a new friend or build a new relationship. The respiratory care staff is amazing, and they are all dedicated making sure that we get the absolute most out of our program.”

Its WHY WEDNESDAY! Meet Peyton Upson, a level 4 nursing student. "“My decision to pursue nursing was inspired by the compassionate nurses who cared for my mom after she was involved in a car accident. Witnessing the kindness, dedication, and support they provided to my family during such a difficult time opened my eyes to the meaningful impact nurses can have on the lives of others. Through that experience, I discovered my passion for nursing and knew I wanted to provide the same level of care, comfort, and compassion to patients and their families when they need it most. My favorite part of ACONHP is the amazing cohort I've been blessed to be a part of. I have found a sense of family within my cohort where we all celebrate and encourage one another in a way I have never experienced before. With my home state being Connecticut, having such a supportive community has meant more to me than I can express and has made my experience at UNA truly special.”
