Midland University may have been the last college visit Emmalee Sheppard made, but it quickly became the first choice of where she wanted to continue her education.
Four years later, the Fremont native has built a lifetime of memories on the Midland campus, both in and out of the classroom, thanks to a little persuading from her parents.
“I told my parents I wanted to get out of Fremont, but they said I had to at least tour Midland. It was the last place I toured, but something about Midland felt different. Even though I grew up in Fremont, it felt like a breath of fresh air, and it felt like home. Coach G (former volleyball coach Paul Giesselmann) already had a plan in place for me, and the staff was amazing. Steph Strobel (Admissions Counselor and Events Specialist) led my tour, and now she is one of my best friends.”
