The Resilient Wujimu Chapter of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. invites you to join us for our very first event of the semester, Upcycling with the MUs! 🩵🎨

Did you know that about 92 million tonnes of textile waste is found in landfills each year?

Upcycling clothing helps reduce this waste by giving a new life to items you already own. We are excited to share with you new ways to upcycle any clothing currently sitting in your closet that you feel may need a new look! We will be engaging with upcycling methods such as bleach design, tie-dying, and no-sew cutting. 🖌️✂️

We hope to see you there and encourage everyone to implement new ways to sustainably revamp  their current wardrobe! 👕👖

As we reach the end of summer, we hope this fall semester treats everyone with calmness and positivity! ☀️ Special shoutout to Juana Burgara ( #2) and Amy Ortiz ( #3) of the Elaris Line for celebrating their last FDOC as Seniors! 🏹

Check out what Amy Ortiz ( #3) of the Elaris line has been up to this summer!🏹

Amy spent her summer in Towson, Maryland working as a Student Life Advisor (SLA) at Goucher College through the Student Diplomacy Corps (SDC) Experimental College Program! ☀️📚 As an SLA, Amy worked with 40+ high school students taking college-level courses and specifically served as a mentor to 8 students within her cohort. Throughout the program, she helped create a fun and memorable summer experience for her students both inside and outside of the classroom!

From exploring Washington, D.C. 🏛️ and going roller skating 🛼 to swimming, jumping off cliffs at the lake, having bonfires, and making way too many trips to the mall, Amy and her students definitely made the most of their summer! 🤭 She loved getting to build connections with her students, watch them grow throughout the program, and make so many memories along the way!

Check out what Juana Burgara ( #2) of the Elaris line has been up to this summer!🏹

Juana kicked off her summer by taking Physics I at Indiana University in Indianapolis! 📚 Upon completion of her classes, Juana spent a lot of her time traveling with her family! One of her trips consisted of traveling to Chicago for a concert. While in Chicago, she was able to explore the windy city and take many pictures of Chicago’s skyline. 🏙️ She also traveled to Miami Beach, Florida🏖️ where she got to spend some time on the beach 🌊, try new restaurants, explore new cafes, & make more memories with her family! 🤩 After her trip to Miami Beach, Juana came straight back to campus for Resident Assistant Institute training. RA Institute consists of a two-week extensive training where all campus RA’s come together to learn more about helpful resources and guidance on becoming excellent RA’s for the academic year! For the past two years, Juana has been a First-Year Resident Assistant for DePauw’s First-Year communities. This year, Juana will transition into a new role as a Community Resource Assistant (CRA) to assist upperclassmen in University-Owned Apartments and Houses. 🥂 to a wonderful senior year!!
