Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have spoken to many of you about this already, for the rest of you I apologize for the short notice. We are invited to take part in the 2026 Scoutfest (Boy Scouts) to be held at the village on Saturday November 14 and Sunday November 15. However, Saturday is the crucial day.
The event will run from 9:00-4:00, so we need to be set up and ready to go by 9. We will talk about camp life, demonstrate weapons , do some drill, and prepare meals. There is no battle or skirmish. Anyone who wishes to is invited to stay Saturday night. I will have three common tents and an officer’s tent up. If you want to bring your own to, I encourage you to do so. It will make the camp look larger.

I will provide more details as they become available. Here is the website for the event.

Comrades of the First Pennsylvania,

The past weekend saw many of our members attend a lining history event at Old Baker Farm. I think everyone is aware of this, but Shawn Baker always brings his unit to American Village events. It was good to reciprocate and assist him. Allen and Erich introduced their new impressions of the 1st Continental regiment in 1776. Shane, Rick, and I portrayed the regiment as it would have appeared in 1779-80. There were two small skirmishes on Saturday and one on Sunday afternoon. The Waldeck Jaegers were driven back both times. The event was well attended by the public, and we shared our information with a few hundred people. I will post pictures as soon as they are available.

We have the opportunity to attend the Boy Scout Camporee that is being held at the village on November 14-15. Please indulge me as I only just found out about this, but a timeline event is being organized as part of the event. The day would involve demonstrations of weapons, tactics, and camp life. It is an overnight event. I am still working on details, but please let me know if you are interested and available.

Some of you are taking part in the Veterans Day dinner on Nov. 10. I will provide more details on that shortly.

The regimental Christmas party is Saturday Dec. 5. We will be in the courthouse. I will provide times, etc. shortly.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and participation. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Domari Nolo!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As previously discussed, Saturday Oct. 17 and Sunday Oct. 18 we will be attending an event at Old Baker Farm. Sean Baker is hosting, and he is the commander of the Waldeck Jaeger Regiment that serves as the opposition force on the 4th of July.

Duration:
The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday. This will be an overnight encampment. We are allowed to set up on Friday afternoon or evening. We will break camp on Sunday afternoon. Camps need to be set up, and vehicles removed no later than 9:00 Saturday morning. Everyone is welcome to just come for the day events and not encamp.

Activities:
We will demonstrate camp life of the Continental soldiers. Undoubtedly, the Captain will want to drill the company. There we be a battle on both Saturday and Sunday.

Logistics:
Meal tickets are provided to all participants for lunch at the commissary. The tickets can be used for dinner instead if you want. We need to plan on breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday. Of course, you are welcome to being whatever food you wish for snacks and meals. We also need to provide our own cartridges. Firewood is provided.

Uniform Notes:
Regimentals are preferred but hunting shirts are more than welcome.

Attendance:
I hope to see as many of you there as can make it. Please let me know how many are attending so I can communicate that number to Shawn and he can plan accordingly.

Picked up an interesting piece of history recently. Although it is dated after the war, 1789, it has the signature of two individuals that played major roles during the war, in particular, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The document, a deed for the sale of a 10-acre parcel from Jacob and Elizabeth Snevely from Leacock township, to Henery Eaby was witnessed by no other than Adam Hubley and Jacob Dickert. An incredible find indeed.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Words cannot express my gratitude and admiration for the work all of you did over July 3rd and 4th. We have been together a number of years now, and this is the most I have ever asked of you. You conducted yourselves with dedication, pride, and enthusiasm. I am proud of what we, but mostly all of you, have accomplished. Most historians and reenactors only dream about leading such an organization. I am truly blessed by the presence of each and everyone of you.

Checks should be processed next week. I will get your pay to you as soon as possible.

A few notes regarding upcoming events:

According to the schedule published in January, we are supposed to meet on September 12. I would still like to meet, though the agenda is yet to be decided.

We also have an event Oct. 17-18 at Old Baker Farm. They are holding a Frontier Days like event. I will provide more details as we get closer.

November 10, Veterans’ Day Dinner, Color Guard.

December 12, Christmas dinner at the Village. We MAY move this to December 5 if everyone wants to. Let me know.

Would everyone like to get together in August for an informal gathering, perhaps a road trip or a cookout?

A topic I want to discuss is our participation in some of the Gulf coast events. There were no Continental Army units there, but we could perhaps do Spanish militia. Galvez did have a small contingent of American volunteers.

Again, thank you all for your devotion and friendship. They mean more than you will ever know.
