Tennessee State University appreciates the attention surrounding the Dr. Levi Watkins, Jr. Institute Accelerated Pathway Program and is clarifying inaccurate information being shared online.

While we value the visibility, some details circulating on social media from external sources are incorrect.

The program is open to all qualified students, regardless of race or gender, with admission based on academic achievement (minimum 3.5 GPA and qualifying ACT/SAT scores).

Selected students receive full scholarship support at TSU (tuition, room, board, and fees), along with a pathway to partnering medical and dental schools.

Now in its 5th year, the institute has supported 20+ students on their journey to medical school. 🩺

2026–2027 applications are closed.

Our Big Blue alumni family came out, showed up and supported TSU’s Head Football Coach Barlow, his coaching staff and our student athletes in their spring game showcase at Hale Stadium. Let’s kick things off on next Friday night at our Alumni Mixer, featuring special guest Head Coach Reggie Barlow—a perfect opportunity to mix, mingle, and get excited for what’s ahead.

Then, join us on the yard next Saturday to reconnect with your alumni family and get a first look at our team during its annual Blue and White game as they gear up for an exciting season! It’ll be a fun-filled day with food trucks, tailgating, and a special Legends Game featuring football alumni going head-to-head.

The gates at Hale stadium open at 10am so bring your lawn chair, kick back, relax, and soak in the atmosphere—it’s all about good vibes, great company, and celebrating the Big Blue spirit!

Big Blue Family — This Is Our Moment!

Tomorrow, Selection Sunday is here, and Big Blue Nation is invited to the Gentry Center this Sunday for the March Madness Selection Show Watch Party.

CBS will be broadcasting live from the Gentry Center as the Selection Show airs nationally — which means Tiger fans have a chance to represent TSU on the national stage.

Doors open at 4:00 PM, and the excitement starts early with a pep rally from 4:00–5:00 PM to build momentum before the show begins.

Fans are encouraged to wear TSU blue from head to toe, bring the energy, and help show the country what Tiger pride looks like.

Admission is FREE, but the requirement is simple — Big Blue energy only.

Please note that the Gentry Center is a clear bag facility.

Let’s pack the house, support our Tigers, and experience March Madness together.
