Healthcare hopefuls at the Nebraska HOSA 2026 conference jumped feet-first into a quintessential NMC learning experience. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐢𝐦 places students in the role of a patient experiencing poverty and asks: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴? For every NMC student, the Sim holds a mirror to our own biases, setting the stage for a transformation of 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 and 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐭.⁣

The newest student org on campus announced its presence last week with Henna Night – an event whose meaning and impact will outlast the flowing floral patterns you’ve probably seen on more than a few hands.⁣

MSA (the Muslim Student Association) is all about building connection. They want you to know: 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞; 𝐧𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝.⁣

Public Health Policy Ed.D. candidate 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐲 is using his Doctoral Scholarly Project to drive real change for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients. Using custom R scripts, he’s conducting an ER equity audit that will live on as an “equity dashboard” for his hospital system.⁣
⁣
Online degrees don’t get any more IRL than this: a doctoral program built for real leaders, leveraged in real time to change the lives of real patients.⁣

Last week, our nursing students put their signatures to a historic book linking them to every nurse who has ever attended Nebraska Methodist College. In a moving pledge ceremony, they committed to a heartset and mindset that only Dean of Nursing Jillian Krumbach could have articulated like this. ⁣
