Child Life Science major, Jazmine Elmore, is spending her summer as a camp counselor!

"Working as a camp counselor allowed me to create games and activities for children with all kinds of abilities. By tailoring daily programs to meet diverse physical and sensory needs, I ensured every camper felt included and empowered. This experience sharpened my creative problem-solving and grew my passion for fostering supportive group environments."

Thank you to Nutrition & Dietetics major, Kelly Jurkowski, for serving as the Bradley Market 309 Manager during the 2025-2026 academic year! The manager makes sure the market runs smoothly by handling food deliveries, set-up, volunteer management, and marketing.

Kelly said, "My favorite part of this position was seeing everyone happy and knowing that Market 309 helped make groceries more accessible for students. I loved being able to help provide healthy, affordable fruits and vegetables to people who may not otherwise have easy access to them. Through this position, I learned how important community support and food accessibility are, and it was rewarding to see the positive impact the market had on others."

Congratulations to Madison Kelly, recipient of this year’s Nina Collins Research Award! Madison worked in a research lab with faculty mentor, Dr. Rachel Vollmer, to examine how food insecurity impacts college students with disabilities.

This award recognizes a senior who has demonstrated excellence in research. Named in honor of Dr. Nina Collins — longtime department chair and a passionate advocate for student research — the award celebrates her lasting impact and commitment to scholarly achievement.

We are proud to celebrate Madison’s accomplishments and this well-deserved recognition!
