Student Trustee Applications Now Open
Shawnee State University is now accepting applications for Student Trustees to serve on the Board of Trustees. This leadership opportunity allows students to represent their peers, participate in Board meetings, and contribute to decisions that shape the future of SSU. Eligible students must be Ohio residents and in good academic standing.

All application materials must be returned to the Office of the President (ADM176) by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 12, 2026, or email your application materials to [email protected].

The 2026 applications for two American Legion scholarships for higher learning open Jan. 1.
โ€ข The American Legion Legacy Scholarship eligibility is for children of a parent who lost their lives while honorably serving on active military duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001, or children of a post-9/11 veteran with a combined Department of Veterans Affairs disability rating of 50% or higher. The scholarship is awarded for undergraduate study, graduate study, and trade schools at an accredited institution of higher education. It awards up to $20,000 for children of the fallen, and up to $5,000 for children of the disabled.
โ€ข Samsung American Legion Scholarship is available for high school juniors who will participate in the current session of American Legion Boys State or Auxiliary Girls State and are a direct descendant (or legally adopted child) of a U.S. military veteran who served honorably on active duty during a period of war (April 6, 1917-Nov. 11, 1918; or Dec. 7, 1941, until a date as determined by Congress).
