Historical Tours of Flagler College

Virtual tours of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon are now available! Visit the Courtyard, Rotunda, Dining Hall, Flagler Room, and even the Solarium all from the comfort of your home.

From the safety and comfort of your own home, you can now explore the former Hotel Ponce de Leon virtually. The current home of Flagler College, the former luxury hotel famed for its Tiffany Windows, ornate murals and Spanish-Renaissance architecture, is closed to visitors in an abundance of caution during the pandemic.

https://www.flagler.edu/about-flagler/history/historic-virtual-tours/

In order to serve the curious public and the many school groups who normally visit, college officials at Flagler’s Legacy Historic Tours have created a solution to share the history of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon through a virtual tour option. Flagler’s Legacy partnered with a local St. Augustine company, Listing Solutions, to capture the immersive 3D images of the interior of the former famed hotel. Areas included are the courtyard, the Flagler Room, the Dining Hall, Rotunda and the Solarium.

Each area has its own 3D model with unique interactive touch points including historic photos, fun facts, and views of rooms not usually accessible. Additionally, the virtual option has more information than can fit into the one-hour, in-person tour.

Gifts to the Flagler Fund will provide the scholarship resources that many of our students need to continue their education. 🎓Today, we ask you to consider a gift of $10 or more to the Flagler Fund for Scholarships. You may ask, "Does $10 really do much good?" The answer is YES! For every 100 people who give $10 or more, we can fund one additional scholarship for a student this fall. When we unite together, our impact is stronger! Please visit www.flagler.edu/support before the end of TODAY to support our students! 🎁 #ThoughtfulStewardship

We stand in solidarity with our black community and condemn racism, injustice, and police brutality. #BlackLivesMatter

As a new week begins, let us start it by saying what we should have clearly stated last week- We stand in solidarity with our black community and condemn racial injustice and police brutality. #BlackLivesMatter and our black students matter. We will be dedicating our channel to:

-Antiracist, mental health, and activism resources as well as fall plans developed by our Office of Diversity and Inclusion as part of the College's Strategic Plan
-Follow What's Up Wednesday with our Title IX coordinator and equity investigator, Jess Kobryn as she describes the campus's discrimination reporting
-Citizenship with Integrity in action
-Local Civil Rights History

This is only the beginning, and more work is needed, but we know our Flagler community is up for the challenge on this important human rights issue.

Flagler College President Joseph G. Joyner

Flagler College President Joseph G. Joyner

To the Flagler Family,

I want to take a moment to recognize that the violence and injustice currently happening in our country right now is a very traumatic experience for many members of our Flagler Family. I don’t have the words to heal your pain but I can voice my support for you and acknowledge your grief. Please know that as your college president, I condemn any type of hatred or devaluing of human life.

To our students, we talk a lot about how Flagler students are going to make the world a better place, and I trust that you will. But know it won’t be easy and you will get frustrated. If you hold on to your beliefs and our shared values of respectful and inclusive community and citizenship with integrity, you will have the tools you need to make a difference.

If the news cycle this week has been overwhelming for you, please be sure to find ways to disconnect and take care of your mental and spiritual health. Your Flagler Family is here for you and I encourage you to ask for their support.

Regardless of how this week has felt for you, I encourage everyone to show a little bit of grace and compassion and do your best to provide a safe space for those who may feel vulnerable at this time.

Wishing you peace and safety,

President Joyner

Any Alumni interested or know of anyone who might be interested in a nanny job? #tagyournannyfriends
Flagler Tallahassee, May 2012 commencement.... can anyone tell me who our speaker was that day? I still remember much of what she said that day but cannot place her name.
Would you consider using large block lettering on alumni name tags, and use white backed tags when possible? It might be interesting going forward to occasionally put a name to a face.
Old school FC Sign. Metal. $100.
Many, if not everyone, knows Rosie, the barista in the student center. You also know how much she has been there for many students. Now, she needs your help. the following is shared from her personal page status: "Flagler College has asked for me to not be allowed to return to work. I had an unfortunate outburst with my supervisor last Wednesday, and this is what they decided. I am appealing to anyone that cares to please contact them to reconsider this decision. I love my job and everyone that I have been blessed to know in my 9 years there. If anyone can help me please let me know. Sincerely Rosie" #Rosieisflagler
Weird question. Flagler alumni 1991. I’m trying to remember the name of the art class I would have taken and the textbook. I’m so sad that I don’t have it bc I worked hard to remember all of those slides with artist and name of piece or whatever else it was. I think it was a Visual Arts class. Anyone remember this? 😬🤪
Just voted Flagler Best College / University Folio Weekly's Best Of!
Does anyone remember Margaret Humphries and her dachshund Henry Flagler who loved to watch the Flagler tennis team practice on campus? She was English and her dog Henry got the same dinner she did including cocktail. I wish I had a picture. Does anyone? This was during the 80s.
