Utah Tech University Theatre This is the official page of the Theatre Program at Utah Tech University.

Prospective theatre majors choose between a performance emphasis or a technical theatre emphasis. The production program prepares a full season of plays and musicals for performance each year. Serious theatre students are expected to be involved in production activities on a continuous basis. The production program emphasizes development and application of skills, effective collaboration and professional discipline.

Auditions are THIS MONTH for our first show of the school year! Grab your audition spot! 🔗 in bio or story highlight

📅 Dates: Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st
📍 Place: Eccles Fine Arts Center Room 156
⏰️ Audition Slots: 5 minute slots starting at 6 PM and ending at 9:55 PM on August 31st. Callbacks will be September 1st.

🎭 Please prepare a minute and a half to two minute contemporary monologue, memorized, and you must be able to do the monologue from start to finish.

📖 Synopsis of the play: A dark comedy about love, betrayal, redemption, and Satan and Judas walking into a bar...

⚠️ Warnings: The play contains provocative language that may be considered offensive and deals with many sensitive issues.

Henry Janke is out next student shout out!! 🤩🪡🥳

This year I (Henry Janke) was hired as a stitcher for the costume shop at Tuacahn amphitheatre.
My job is to do alterations on costumes, fix mistakes or damage, and help with costume builds.
When I don’t know how to complete an alteration or the notes aren’t specific enough, I’m able to ask my coworkers and/or my alterations lead, Rebekah Woodstock.
I’ve been able to learn a lot about sewing and clothing alteration, obviously, but I’ve also learned a lot about how a real and professional costume shop is run.
All in all, my work environment is fun, full of great and supportive people, and I really enjoy working here.

Teen Technical Theatre Camp starts next week! It runs June 15-26 with an AM session ($200) or All Day session ($250). Teens, ages 13-18, can learn how to make backstage magic from our very own faculty. For more information, head on over to https://theatre.utahtech.edu/camps-and-classes/

This master classes in Tech Theatre Design technical theatre trains teens in lighting, sound, scenic design, props, costume, and makeup through guided morning labs focused on portfolio development. In the afternoons, students may opt into a collaborative build lab, allowing participants to work alongside professionals on scenic elements for an upcoming production. Campers receive a crew tech shirt, professional critiques from industry mentors, and a final project and portfolio gallery showcase at the conclusion of the camp.
