We are the Mexican American Studies program at Northwest Vista College located in San Antonio, TX.

Latino population expected to triple by 2050, studying Mexican-American themes and topics has never proven more important. The Mexican-American Studies Program at NVC prepares students for this important trend. If you are interested in politics, history, sociology, art, literature, world languages, cultural studies, education, communications, business and marketing, and more this field of study may prove beneficial to your goals.

EDUCATORS, YOU'RE INVITED!

Join us for an Educator Open House at Museo del Westside! An afternoon for educators to connect, exchange ideas, and explore ways to bring San Antonio's Westside history and culture into the classroom.

Through a workshop, collaborative brainstorming, and a museum tour, educators will have the opportunity to engage with local history and explore new approaches to sharing these stories with students.

We had the opportunity to experience La Línea / The Line: Works by Vincent Valdez, featuring the work of MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient Vincent Valdez. A powerful reflection on history, identity, community, and the stories that shape us. The exhibition is on display through February 26, 2027, at the ACCESS Common Ground Gallery.
