Bobcats, this just in. 🛰️

PROVES-Maia has reached the International Space Station.

In a few weeks, TXST’s first university-owned satellite will deploy from the station into low Earth orbit. The TXST Space Lab will then make contact with Maia and command it from San Marcos.

A few hours out in the community can make a big difference for a shelter dog. 🐾

Through San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter’s Dog’s Day Out program, TXST students are taking adoptable dogs on adventures, giving them time to decompress and helping more people see how lovable these dogs are.

TXST students are helping San Marcos shelter dogs exercise, socialize, and find homes through the Dog’s Day Out Program.

It’s been a long time coming. 🚀

This morning, TXST’s first-ever satellite launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 as part of NASA’s CRS-35 mission to the International Space Station.

Years of work by students and researchers in the TXST Space Lab led to PROVES-Maia, the first satellite owned and operated by Texas State University. Maia will later deploy into orbit, where the team will command it from TXST’s ground station in San Marcos.
