TXST students helped build technology now operating aboard satellites in space and are sending real commands from the Space Lab, preparing them to operate TXST's first satellite later this year.

Flight software developed by TXST researchers now operates on four satellites deployed from the International Space Station, highlighting the university’s growing role in space research.

Beginning Fall 2027, TXST students can pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the Round Rock Campus, with concentrations in computer engineering, nanotechnology and network communication. The expansion brings more opportunities to study and build a career in one of Central Texas’ fastest-growing industries.

The new program is the first engineering program to be offered at TXST Round Rock, offering more career options for the growing population of North Travis County.
