“When I think about why I chose Gamma Phi, I think about the people who have made these years of my life so hard to imagine leaving behind. I think about Mattie, who was my best friend long before college, and how lucky I was to have a piece of home waiting for me in Gphi. I think about my group of 8 girls who went from strangers to people I can’t imagine doing life without. I think about living with 6 other Gphi girls and how one day I’ll wish for just one more ordinary night under the same roof. I think about Regan, Greer, Brynlee, and Taylor, who have made being a big one of the most meaningful parts of college. They’ve helped me grow just as much as I’ve watched them grow. My own big, Meredith, has shown me that being someone’s big doesn’t end at graduation, and I hope my girls always feel that same love from me. I think about serving on exec and getting to give back to a chapter that has given me so much more in return.
I came to college hoping to find my people, and somewhere along the way, they became my home. I never knew four years could give me so many people to miss for a lifetime. Thank you, Gamma Phi, for making goodbye the hardest part.”
