💚💛 Mu Eta Eta Chapter Celebrates Community Partnership! 💛💚

On August 4th, the Mu Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated was honored to participate in the Community Partner Service Luncheon held at The University of Alabama.

This special luncheon provided an opportunity to recognize the importance of community partnerships and celebrate the organizations and individuals who work together to strengthen and serve our community.

Mu Eta Eta is proud to be part of a network of community partners committed to Service for Humanity. We are grateful for opportunities that allow us to build meaningful relationships, collaborate with others, and continue making a positive impact throughout our community.

💚💛 Mu Eta Eta Chapter in the Community! 💛💚

On Saturday, August 22nd, the Mu Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated had the privilege of participating in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Health Fair.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with the community, promote health and wellness, and support an event dedicated to improving the health of those we serve. Our commitment to Service for Humanity continues to guide us as we lead with compassion and serve with purpose.

In July, the United States of America annually observes Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Established to raise awareness of the unique mental health challenges experienced by racial and ethnic minority communities and to promote equitable access to culturally responsive mental health care.

The observance was originally named after Bebe Moore Campbell, an author and advocate who worked to reduce stigma surrounding mental illness in underserved communities. In 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives designated July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Why it matters?

People from minority communities may face barriers to mental health care, including:

Stigma surrounding mental illness
Limited access to culturally competent providers
Financial and insurance challenges
Language barriers
The effects of discrimination, racism, and historical trauma

These factors can contribute to delays in seeking care and disparities in mental health outcomes.
