We are thrilled to welcome critically acclaimed tenor Stuart Skelton to Binghamton University as our Artist in Residence! 🌟

Celebrated as one of the finest heldentenors on stage today, Skelton is known for his outstanding musicianship, tonal beauty, and intensely dramatic portrayals. His 2024–25 season took him to the world’s great stages: the title role of Tristan und Isolde with the Dresdner Philharmonie and in his Philadelphia Orchestra debut under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Parsifal and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Die Walküre with the Sydney Symphony and Simone Young, and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde in Hamburg, Lyon, and Warsaw, among many others.

What an amazing time we had this past Friday night with Cirque Kalabanté! We hope you enjoyed your evening at the Anderson Center and will return soon. Our 2026–27 season is on sale now, featuring holiday music, shadow dance, and jazz interpretations of Broadway favorites in the Osterhout Concert Theater.

The Anderson Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Cirque Kalabanté: World of Words to Binghamton University on Friday, October 23. Tickets on sale now!

Separated by a symbolic line, one group shares its knowledge through powerful storytelling, hypnotic songs, and ritual initiation, while the other listens and learns—sometimes with fear, sometimes with resistance.

The exchange begins with spoken language as an obstacle, but the universal forces of gesture, rhythm, and sound quickly overcome it. Three guiding figures—Trust, Respect, and Wisdom—lead the journey.

Through acrobatic contact and moments of mutual support, the dividing line fades. Bodies merge, blending tradition with contemporary movement. The finale culminates in a powerful choreography of unity and collective awakening, transforming the journey itself into a revelation.
