Meet Kristin DeFrancisco '96 G'00, Regis alumna and Superintendent of Stoneham Public Schools! Learn more about how Regis prepared her for a career in education:

"One of my most crucial skills as a leader and educator is the ability to reflect. Reflection in all the roles that I have served has allowed me to grow from each of my experiences. I learned how to be reflective through my education at Regis. Having opportunities to engage in reflection with my professors and classmates taught me that the end of something is really just the beginning of the learning. I am grateful for this each and everyday. Creating environments where our children can learn and become their best selves is the greatest honor. Regis prepared me for that!"

Say hello to Christiane Petrin Lambert EdD '24, who was recently named Interim Vice Provost at Rhode Island College! 👋 When asked how her Regis education prepared her for life after graduation, she reflected on her professors, who helped her realize her passion and potential:

"I think it began with the Presentation Interview required for admission into the EdD program. Dr. Priscilla Boerger's and Dr. Lauren Bent's receptivity to my ideas watered a seed I didn't know was planted inside myself. Over the coursework, that seedling was cultivated. One example is when my Psychology of Learning Professor, Dr. Kelly Brochu, took the time after class one day to brainstorm dissertation ideas prompted by the class material. Another example is when Dr. Heather Maietta, my dissertation chairperson, offered to author an article with me, which was eventually accepted and published. I am intentionally including the names of the professors, and there are others, who invested themselves in their teaching, and my learning and confidence in what I have to offer the world of higher education."

Meet Matthew Andrade EdD ’24, who earned his doctorate at Regis and has since started his own business, ElevatEd Consulting Lab. Learn more about how Regis shaped him:

"Regis delivered. It wasn't just individual professors; it was the way conversations were held. Equity wasn't treated as an add-on or buzzword. It was interrogated, challenged, and connected to systems. Regis helped me slow down my thinking, training me to be intentional about instructional choices, data, and how students experience learning. This work forced me to connect theory to live classroom realities — a discipline that made me a more reflective teacher, and later, a more effective coach.”

Matthew was featured this spring in Regis Today Magazine! Read more about his experiences at the link in the comments.
