A blast from the past. This video was made 9 years ago at the PDC dive school in Durban Harbour. The courses were intense and 12 weeks in duration / 12 hours a day / 7 days a week with 100 training dives full of various working tasks.

I could write a book on PDC & the experiences we encountered as a business both good and bad while providing excellent commercial diver training from 1987 to 2026.

There are no more PDC commercial air diver training courses from the end of 2023 and we are now only going to be focusing on closed bell saturation training and will be ensuring it is of the highest comprehensive standard as we did for the air training courses.

Moving the spare saturation control container and ECU container to PDC / Gamco Base in Gansbaai to be part of the Life Support Package to support the twin lock HRC - (Hyperbaric Rescue Chamber) combo living chamber should the need ever arise. Saturation Divers cannot just be brought back to surface without correct decompression which can take many days. So in the event of for example the dive support ship sinking etc. This setup must be in place

With these two containers moved onto location to support the twin lock HRC.
This then allows for an option of partly having a HRF - (Hyperbaric Receiving facility). This set up can allow divers to be safely decompressed and medical staff to transfer (enter) into the HRC to provide medical support in the event of an unforeseen emergency.

Advanced planning for worst case situations should always be part of Professional Diving Planning.

Deepworx was designed as a vessel to support diving while moored over a dive location. Incredibly stable on a mooring at sea in fact anywhere.

PDC bought the Kirby Morgan Diamond helmet over 4 years ago for use in the closed bell saturation diver training which includes diver use of reclaim helmets. The diamond helmet is also covered on the 4th day of the Kirby Morgan Dive Lab Certified Hat Technician training course.

Like all Kirby Morgan equipment it is excellent.
