Sneaky footwork practice 🏃

Somewhere this week, a coach turned a normal drill into an "obstacle course challenge" and the kids have no idea it's still just footwork practice. 😄

That's the magic of a great coach: when it feels like a game, kids give it everything. Fitness, coordination and confidence, all hiding inside the fun.

Tag the coach who can make any drill feel like a game. 👇

The schools that treat sport as part of the curriculum, not an add-on, are the ones seeing it show up in report cards too.

When sport has a timetable slot, a trained coach and a clear purpose, it stops being the first thing cut when the term gets busy.

Children who move well tend to focus better, handle setbacks more calmly and walk into the classroom ready to learn.

The question for decision-makers isn't whether you can afford to make room for sport. It's whether you can afford not to.

Let's talk about building sport into your school week: clamberclub.com/find-a-class/sports-classes/

Hurdles, mini and low. 🏃 The lesson isn't clearing them perfectly. It's trying even when you might knock one down.

Our mini hurdles are small enough for little legs, but they do big things. They build coordination as children work out when to lift, leap and land, and balance as they touch down steadily on two feet.

They encourage brave risk-taking, because there's always a chance the hurdle will wobble. And when one does get knocked over, children learn to bounce back by setting it up and going again. 💪

Put it all together and you get real confidence: the kind that comes from knowing trying counts more than getting it perfect.

For a lot of children, the sports field is the one place all week where they feel completely capable.

That matters more than the score ever will. ⚽

Not every child shines in the classroom, and that's okay. But put them on a field with a ball, a team and a coach who believes in them, and something changes.

They stand a little taller. They try again after a miss. They cheer for a friend and feel part of something.

At Clamber Club Sports, we're proud to give children a place to feel strong, supported and included, whatever the final score says.

Mental health matters every day, not just one.

Ready, set, react! 🏃

To any principal, teacher or sports coordinator who's ever watched a warm-up game and thought "that's just fun": it's doing a lot more than that.

Every time a learner has to listen, spot a cue and sprint off in a split second, their brain is getting a workout too.

Faster reactions help on the field, in the playground and when the class has to switch gears. And they think they're just playing tag.

Happy World Teachers' Day! 🍎

Teachers carry the classroom. Our coaches carry the field. And both are shaping the same child.

The one who patiently explains fractions for the third time and the one who cheers a nervous kid through their first relay are on the same team.

A child who feels brave on the field walks into class a little taller, and a child who feels seen in class plays with a little more heart.

To every teacher who shows up for our kids every single day: thank you. We're proud to be in your corner.

Every South African sport has roots in a community game played with nothing but bare feet and a ball.

That spirit is still what we build on.

Long before proper fields, coaches, or equipment, kids across this country were already playing, running barefoot in the street or a dusty yard, making up the rules as they went, and building skill through nothing more than sheer love of the game.

This Heritage Day, we're honouring that spirit. Every structured session we run today is still rooted in that same simple joy: kids, movement and a game worth playing.

Spring break means more energy and fewer structured hours.

Here's how to bottle some of that sports-session energy at home.

No coach, no whistle, no problem. You don't need a full programme to keep that same energy going over the break, just a bit of structure and some open space.

Try a simple obstacle course in the garden, a "beat your time" sprint to the fence and back, or an agility challenge using nothing more than a few markers on the grass.

Same energy, same focus, just at home.

Your child doesn't need to win to benefit from sport.

They need to try, fall short, and come back next week. That's the actual skill being built.

The scoreboard isn't really the point. What matters more is the quiet repetition, missing the catch, not quite keeping up, coming last in a race and showing up again the following week anyway.

That's where real resilience gets built, not in the winning, but in the willingness to keep trying.

Every "not quite" is doing more for your child than a win ever could.
