POV: I am a fancy coloured diamond and I watched a colourless diamond sell for more money than me once and I have never fully recovered.

I am RARE. Do you understand how rare? Less than 1 in 10,000 diamonds have enough colour to be classified as fancy. I went through everything a colourless diamond went through PLUS additional geological conditions to get this colour.

Pink? That's structural distortion during formation. Yellow? Nitrogen. Blue? Boron — which has no business being in a diamond but here we are. Red? Scientists are still not entirely sure and honestly I think that's kind of iconic. 😌

The Oppenheimer Blue sold for over $57 million. The Pink Star went for $71 million. The Red diamonds? There are fewer than 30 known to exist in the entire world.

But yes. Tell me again how colourless is the standard. 👀

I didn't ask to be born 150km underground in literally the most extreme conditions on earth. The pressure? Unhinged. The heat? Absolutely unhinged. And yet here I am — stunning.

A volcano basically kidnapped me and shot me to the surface at supersonic speed. Most things don't survive that. I did. Because I'm built different.

Miners dug me up. Looked at me like I was just a rock. Honey. I am not just a rock. I am ancient. I am rare. I am the result of conditions that will never be perfectly replicated.

Yes I have inclusions. Those are called character. Yes I might have a crystal or two inside me. That's called history.

I didn't come from a lab. I came from the earth itself — and the earth does not miss. 🌍
